Custom field groups

Field groups help organise custom fields. Instead of assigning each field individually, you bundle related fields into a group and assign the group as a whole. This improves clarity when many fields are used.

    Custom field groups organise custom fields and assign them as a unit. Instead of adding each field individually, you create groups, add fields to them, and then assign the group to an article, category or module – all fields become available at once.

    Use cases

    • Structure: Group related fields such as address data, product information or social links.
    • Reuse: Use the same field group across multiple articles or categories without recreating the fields.
    • Efficiency: Save time assigning fields by selecting an entire group.

    Important notes

    • Order: Within a group you can set the order of fields.
    • Distinction: Don’t confuse field groups with user groups, which control permissions.
    • Maintenance: Give groups clear names so you can find them later.
